Principal Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York, New York, United States

Base salary: $261,000–$353,000 per year, with potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and validate next-generation fintech integration protocols for agentic payment settlement, edge AI, and verifiable financial trust.
• Drive significant technology initiatives end to end, including horizontal architecture layers and cross-functional integrations.
• Design and implement durable, scalable, secure, highly available software for real transaction volumes and production data.
• Guide the application of AI to customer problems across user experiences and backend solutions.
• Partner with Architecture, Product Management, Operations, and external groups on design, development, testing, and releases.
• Contribute to engineering standards, patterns, best practices, technology evaluations, prototypes, patents, and process improvements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
• 7+ years of experience designing complex distributed systems, management products, or business applications.
• Full-stack experience with AI technologies and tools applied to user experiences or backend solutions.
• Experience with at least one frontend technology such as React, Angular, SwiftUI, or Kotlin, or backend technology such as Java, TypeScript, Spring, or Express.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, mentoring, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field.

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or another cloud computing environment.
• Experience working with global teams across time zones.
