Staff Field Engineer (Observability)

Location: Remote in the Netherlands

OTE compensation: €137,000–€165,000; RSUs included.

What you will do

• Advise on strategic customer engagements and complex technical challenges with Solution Engineers and Observability Architects.
• Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in a Grafana Platform area and create reference architectures.
• Create and maintain workshops, guides, demo scripts, and other technical enablement content.
• Architect and maintain reliable, secure, production-grade environments for demos, workshops, and proof-of-value projects.
• Influence product direction, support customer adoption, and represent Field Engineering at marketing events.
• Provide technical guidance, improve documentation, contribute to technical publications, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related technical experience, including 2+ years as a Senior Field Engineer or equivalent.
• Expertise in Grafana and observability technologies such as Loki, Prometheus, Tempo, Elastic, Splunk, or Datadog.
• Expertise in an adjacent domain such as IoT or AI/ML.
• Experience creating adopted technical training content and partnering with Product Management and Engineering.
• Programming experience, Linux familiarity, debugging skills, and practical use of AI tools for code generation and review.
• Ability to design cloud architectures using AWS, Azure, or GCP, including Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, serverless, and microservices.
