Public Benefit Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: On-site at Children's Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota; limited to individuals who reside and are authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $19.55–$21.50 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Review uninsured and under-insured patient referrals to identify eligibility for Medicaid and financial assistance programs.
• Initiate and coordinate benefit applications, obtaining required documents from patients.
• Track submitted applications through determination and update insurance information.
• Support timely billing and financial adjustment processing.
• Document patient communications and actions in patient accounting systems.
• Coordinate with county, state, and federal Medicaid caseworkers and other revenue cycle departments.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of healthcare experience involving patient interaction about hospital financial issues.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials.
• Knowledge of patient insurance, authorizations, benefits verification, health insurance requirements, and medical terminology or procedure codes.
• CRCR certification must be obtained within 9 months of hire.
• Residence and authorization to work in the United States are required.

Nice to have

• Patient Access experience with managed care or insurance.
• Call center experience.
