Hardware Product Manager (Electronics)

What you will do

• Define the vision, positioning, roadmap, priorities, and lifecycle strategy for electronics hardware products.
• Translate the needs of building owners, operators, engineers, installers, and other users into product requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead cross-functional development from concept and validation through launch and ongoing product improvement.
• Partner with electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, systems, design, test, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams.
• Evaluate customer value, technical performance, cost, schedule, reliability, manufacturability, and supply-chain constraints.
• Ensure electronics hardware integrates effectively with HVAC equipment and building-control systems while communicating product decisions and risks to leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product management, technical product management, or a related product role with direct responsibility for electronics hardware products.
• Experience taking electronics hardware through customer discovery, requirements definition, validation, launch, and ongoing improvement.
• Technical or engineering background, including a degree or equivalent experience in electrical, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, or another deeply technical field.
• Strong understanding of product requirements, printed circuit boards, embedded firmware, prototypes, verification and validation, certification, manufacturing readiness, and product release.
• Experience defining product strategy, managing roadmaps, conducting customer discovery, creating business cases, making tradeoffs, and measuring outcomes.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, sales, customers, partners, and leadership in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with HVAC controls, building automation systems, direct digital controls, controllers, sensors, actuators, thermostats, or building-management-system integrations.
• Experience managing integrated hardware, embedded firmware, cloud or application software, and customer workflows.
• Knowledge of bills of materials, component lifecycle management, certification, cost targets, suppliers, manufacturing, and production ramp.
• Industry experience in building automation, HVAC, energy systems, IoT, industrial controls, robotics, or related fields.
