Data Scientist, Financial Services Consulting

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid work with in-person attendance at an assigned hirify.global office at least two days per week. Travel of approximately 10%–20% may be required.

Salary: $67,500–$112,500 annually, with potential eligibility for an annual bonus plan and other incentives.

What you will do

• Develop predictive risk management and business intelligence solutions for fintechs, credit card issuers, collections agencies, and retail banks.
• Lead client engagements involving descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis across the consumer lending lifecycle.
• Design programs for data extraction, segmentation, and statistical analysis on large population datasets.
• Deliver concise analytical insights and recommendations to internal, external, and executive audiences.
• Develop project proposals, sales presentations, and promotional materials supporting integrated customer solutions.
• Mentor junior colleagues and manage initiatives with limited direct supervision.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, financial mathematics, engineering, operations research, or another highly quantitative field.
• At least one year of analytical experience in financial services or a related industry.
• Advanced programming skills in R or Python, with experience conducting sophisticated statistical analysis.
• Experience with SQL and at least one additional language or technology such as Hive, C/C++, or Java.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Chicago with regular in-person attendance and travel approximately 10%–20%.
