Vulnerability Management Intern (Cybersecurity)

Location: Waterford, Ireland; fully on-site at the Waterford office for the duration of the internship

What you will do

• Monitor, triage, and track security vulnerabilities.
• Support internal and external vulnerability scanning and validate scan results.
• Maintain vulnerability metrics, reports, and dashboards.
• Research emerging vulnerabilities, threats, industry advisories, and zero-day issues.
• Assess vulnerability risk using threat intelligence and exploitability information.
• Document processes, support continuous improvement, and identify security automation opportunities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Currently in the third year of a degree and required to complete this internship or work placement as part of the course.
• Must return to studies after the internship and provide confirmation that the placement is a course requirement.
• Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and security concepts.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of vulnerability management or threat intelligence concepts.
• Familiarity with CVEs, CVSS, CISA KEV, or security advisories.
• Scripting experience with Python or PowerShell.
• Exposure to security tools, ServiceNow, cloud technologies, or cybersecurity labs.
