Data Engineer (Gaming)

Location: Remote, EMEA; core working hours are 10am–3pm in the local time zone.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, optimize, and maintain scalable batch ETL and near-real-time data pipelines.
• Build data architectures that process fast, versatile data sources with millions of changes per day.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across business systems.
• Improve internal data delivery processes and redesign infrastructure for scalability.
• Build API integrations to support increasing data volume and complexity.
• Collaborate with data scientists, MLOps engineers, product owners, and BI analysts on product features and system architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, BI, or a related domain.
• Experience implementing data warehouses, operational data stores, and data integration projects.
• Experience with large-scale production relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with a scripting language, preferably Python.
• Experience with Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, and AWS services including S3, Athena, EC2, Redshift, EMR, EKS, RDS, and Lambda.

Nice to have

• Understanding of machine learning models.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Gaming industry experience.
