Principal Platform Engineer (Identity Platform)

What you will do

• Build and operate shared authentication and authorisation capabilities across cloud-native, legacy hosting, and lifecycle cloud environments.
• Develop platform services, APIs, integrations, and automation for secure identity and access workflows.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, upgrades, rollback, backup, and recovery through version-controlled pipelines.
• Build self-service capabilities that enable product engineering teams to use identity services without manual intervention.
• Write and review infrastructure, automation, and Go-based tooling while supporting services in production.
• Establish engineering patterns and contribute to design decisions, code reviews, and technical standards.

Requirements

• Substantial hands-on experience building and operating platforms or shared infrastructure for software engineering teams.
• Strong coding and scripting skills applied to infrastructure, automation, deployment tooling, or integrations, including automated testing.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, containers, a major public cloud, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and GitOps.
• Practical experience implementing authentication and access control, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token validation, permission models, least privilege, and tenant isolation.
• Experience with APIs, networking, data stores, distributed systems, observability, performance testing, safe rollouts, and production troubleshooting.
• Evidence of technical leadership through architecture decisions, code reviews, engineering standards, and support for other engineers.

Nice to have

• Production experience with Curity, Keycloak, SpiceDB, or comparable identity and fine-grained authorisation platforms.
• Experience with enterprise federation, SAML, policy-as-code, or identity systems in distributed multi-tenant environments.
• Experience building self-service identity APIs or SDKs for engineering teams.
• Production experience with Go, PostgreSQL, Kafka, or Redpanda.
