Junior Java Developer

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria; office work is required during the first month, followed by a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Java-based components and features with support from experienced developers.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Investigate and fix bugs, improve existing functionality, and contribute to automation.
• Collaborate with Java developers, QA engineers, and other cross-functional team members.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile Scrum activities.
• Use AI-powered tools responsibly to improve productivity, explore solutions, and automate repetitive development tasks.

Requirements

• Good understanding of Java fundamentals and Java Core.
• Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• Some experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of software development, Git, unit testing, and automated tests.
• Academic, personal, or professional experience developing software in Java.
• Good communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot and REST API development.
• Familiarity with Maven or Gradle, Docker, CI/CD, and Git-based workflows.
• Internship, commercial development, or personal and university project experience.
• Experience using AI tools for coding, learning, debugging, or workflow improvement.
