2027 Spring Co-op mRNA Center of Excellence - Analytical Development (mRNA)

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States; full-time onsite work required. Candidates must be able to relocate to the office and work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for the full six-month co-op.

What you will do

• Support the selection and development of biophysical and analytical methods for mRNA-based products.
• Perform laboratory testing, analyze data, assess result relevance, and present findings to internal partners in Process Development and CMC.
• Develop work plans and protocols, document results in method development reports and electronic laboratory notebooks.
• Participate in or lead analytical working groups and train colleagues on analytical technologies and methods.
• Support laboratory organization, equipment maintenance, reagent management, and sample verification.
• Perform GMP and non-GMP sample analysis while supporting laboratory safety, quality compliance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program focused on Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States and must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must remain enrolled at an accredited college or university throughout the co-op.
• Must be able to work full time onsite in an analytical laboratory and relocate to Waltham, Massachusetts.
• Experience or knowledge of physicochemical, biophysical, and analytical techniques such as AF4-MALS, nanoFCM, nanoDSC, icIEF, HPLC/UPLC, mass spectrometry, capillary electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, DLS, or colorimetric analysis.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment control software such as Empower, Chromeleon, or Bio-Rad Image Lab, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
