Analytical Characterization Scientist (Biotherapeutics)

Location: Andover, Massachusetts, United States; laboratory-based and within commuting distance of Andover

What you will do

• Support formulation and process development for biotherapeutic products from preclinical and Phase I studies through commercialization.
• Develop parenteral formulations for monoclonal antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, proteins, mRNA, and vaccines.
• Characterize candidate molecules and assess stability using HPLC, capillary electrophoresis, and spectroscopy techniques.
• Provide laboratory support, including reagent ordering, equipment maintenance, continuous improvement, and periodic inspections.
• Compile, verify, and present data using Empower and electronic laboratory notebooks.
• Prepare reports and documentation while collaborating with scientists, project managers, and multidisciplinary functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in pharmaceutics, chemistry, chemical or biochemical engineering, pharmacy, biochemistry, bioengineering, biotechnology, biology, or an equivalent field.
• 4–6 years of industry experience with strong HPLC analysis skills.
• Familiarity with biologics, including proteins, enzymes, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, mRNA, or antibody-drug conjugates.
• Must be eligible to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship, including OPT or H1B sponsorship.
• Ability to collect and analyze datasets and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues.

Nice to have

• Experience using HPLC with Empower software.
• Strong computer skills and experience with laboratory computer systems.
