Senior Scientist II (Rheumatology)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; onsite role at the Cambridge Research Center.

Salary: $109,500–$208,500 per year in base pay.

What you will do

• Set rheumatology strategy for pipeline programs and contribute to target evaluation and model development.
• Drive in vitro and in vivo pharmacology, including PK/PD relationships, screening assays, mechanism-of-action studies, and efficacy evaluation.
• Develop acute and chronic murine inflammation models for rheumatological and autoimmune disease programs.
• Apply flow cytometry, PCR and gene expression analysis, protein and cytokine quantification, histopathology, and other functional readouts.
• Design experiments, analyze data, and present findings at scientific forums and conferences.
• Author and review technical reports, protocols, and other scientific documentation while following safety and animal-care standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience, master’s degree with 10 years of experience, or PhD with 4 years of experience.
• Proven expertise in in vitro and preclinical in vivo model systems.
• Strong expertise in immunology, inflammation biology, and preclinical pharmacology.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with colleagues across multiple locations.
• Compliance with corporate conduct, documentation, safety, material-handling, and humane laboratory-animal treatment standards.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Experience supporting rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, or other autoimmune disease programs.
