Systems Engineering Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Chantilly, Virginia, United States; full-time, on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027

What you will do

• Support subsystem and system development, testing, and verification.
• Help execute the technical baseline across space programs.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real technical challenges.
• Collaborate with mentors, supervisors, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Provide progress updates through regular one-to-one meetings and participate in technical and professional events.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program in engineering, physics, or mathematics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• GPA of at least 3.0.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Available to work full-time on-site in Chantilly, Virginia for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027.
• For U.S. office roles, must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, lawfully admitted refugee or asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• At least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Familiarity with optics.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Cameo, JAMA, and Microsoft Office, including Excel.
