Staff Product Security Engineer (AI)

Annual salary: $158,400–$247,500; typical starting salary: $188,100

What you will do

• Turn recurring application security findings into architectural fixes by identifying systemic vulnerability patterns and partnering with product teams.
• Lead product security projects involving private package repositories, software composition analysis tooling, development lifecycle improvements, and GitHub workflows.
• Build AI-assisted vulnerability analysis, reporting, reminders, and draft fixes closer to the code.
• Promote secure development practices by explaining risk clearly and building trusted relationships with developers and stakeholders.
• Own security initiatives, represent Product Security in cross-functional groups, and mentor teammates as the most senior hands-on engineer.

Requirements

• Staff-level application security experience, including ownership of security initiatives from start to finish.
• Professional development experience with Ruby on Rails preferred; Python, Java, or C# experience is also relevant with willingness to work in a Rails codebase.
• Ability to review pull requests and assess whether security fixes address the underlying issue.
• Experience driving architectural security improvements with engineering teams rather than only reporting individual vulnerabilities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to explain risk plainly and challenge decisions constructively.
• Hands-on experimentation with AI in security work, preferably through automation; experience securing AI product features is valuable.
