Finance & Accounting Business Systems Analyst Consultant

What you will do

• Interview stakeholders across profit centers to document current-state finance workflows.
• Analyze invoicing, cash application, accounts receivable, accounts payable, monthly close, reporting, and treasury processes.
• Lead requirements-gathering sessions, produce business analysis deliverables, and obtain business sign-off.
• Represent finance stakeholders with vendors and technical teams by translating business needs and reviewing proposed solutions.
• Support accounting transformations and system implementations, including process documentation, testing coordination, and data conversions.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, validate reconciled or converted data, document defects, and track issues through resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated accounting experience.
• 5–10 years of business systems analysis experience with personal ownership of business analysis work.
• Strong finance knowledge and working knowledge of GAAP standards.
• Hands-on experience with accounting processes such as AR, AP, reconciliations, order-to-cash, and month-end close.
• Experience with process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria, BRDs, design specifications, training materials, UAT, and business validation.
• Strong facilitation, communication, presentation, relationship-building, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills, including work with large datasets.

• Insurance industry experience.
• CPA certification.
• MS Visio experience.
• Six Sigma and process standardization or improvement experience.
• Experience with VRC’s Velocity or Verity Systems, Kyriba, BlackLine, or Workday Financial Management.
