What you will do

  • Establish a five-year operating plan to scale the affordable housing investment opportunity.
  • Build the infrastructure needed to support the acquisition strategy.
  • Source opportunities and oversee the acquisition process, including due diligence, third-party reports, and transaction closings.
  • Prepare market analyses, underwriting, and deal summaries for recommended opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with brokers, developers, lenders, and regional third-party management companies.
  • Represent the company at selected conferences and collaborate with legal, finance, and acquisition professionals.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of real estate acquisition and underwriting experience.
  • Knowledge of federal affordable housing programs, including LIHTC and HAP, as well as legacy programs.
  • Understanding of tax and financing alternatives for affordable housing transactions.
  • Established relationships within the investment sales brokerage community and with regional third-party management companies.
  • College degree in real estate, business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, verbal, written, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities; travel is required.

  • Knowledge of market-rate multifamily acquisitions.
