Location: United States (Remote); listed at 801 Cherry Street, Fort Worth, Texas. Work arrangement: 100% remote.

Salary: $96,000–$151,000 per year, plus performance-based bonus eligibility.

GM Insurance is building a data-driven insurance business within General Motors, using customer data, telematics, and machine learning to develop a simpler insurance product.

What you will do

  • Lead and strengthen the end-to-end regulatory and statistical reporting process, including reporting inventories, filing calendars, production, reconciliation, controls, documentation, and submissions.
  • Gather requirements, define data specifications and business rules, and create validation routines and audit-ready procedures.
  • Prepare, validate, and reconcile regulatory and statistical reports using customer, policy, claims, premium, accounting, actuarial, operational, and financial statement data.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Accounting, Actuarial, Claims, Product, Technology, Operations, and Data & Analytics teams to resolve data issues and support regulatory inquiries, audits, examinations, and data calls.
  • Improve reporting efficiency, automation, data quality, governance, controls, compliance, and long-term process sustainability.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of customer, policy, claims, financial, and operational data used in insurance reporting.
  • Strong understanding of insurance regulatory and statistical reporting, state insurance regulations, reporting statutes, regulatory bulletins, and industry standards.
  • Advanced SQL experience for querying, data validation, reconciliation, and reporting analysis.
  • 5+ years of data analysis, project management, and presentation experience; 2+ years of SQL/Python experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar quantitative field.
  • Experience with reporting controls, reconciliations, audit-ready documentation, large datasets, and cross-functional stakeholder management.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Power BI or other reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with ISO, TICO, MCAS, and state Departments of Insurance.
  • 5+ years of senior analyst experience and 3+ years of regulatory, statistical, financial, compliance, reconciliation, or governance reporting experience.
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
  • Insurance industry experience.
