Structural Analysis Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; full-time, on-site work required for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027.

Salary: $28 USD per hour in California. A stipend may be available to help subsidize relocation costs.

What you will do

• Support the Structural Analysis Team with detailed simulations and physics-based analysis.
• Contribute to vehicle design, analysis, design validation, and future improvements for space systems and components.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Work with mentors, supervisors, and cross-functional employees while providing regular progress updates.
• Participate in technical talks and professional events with interns and employees.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program in aerospace, aeronautical, astronautical, or mechanical engineering, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Available to work full-time on-site in Long Beach, California, for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027.
• For U.S. office roles, must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, lawfully admitted refugee or asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• At least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD/CAM, finite element analysis software, statics, dynamics, or Siemens NX.
