Focus on designing and testing components, analyzing cost, reliability, and safety, and collaborating with manufacturing partners and product specialists at Generac facilities.
Location: On-site in Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA, with positions also available in Pewaukee and plant locations throughout Wisconsin

What you will do
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, production methods, and operational workflows.
- Create and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials for generator and power tool products.
- Support product development plans, including schedules, product costs, and design inputs.
- Design, test, and validate standard components, product specifications, and process validation plans.
- Evaluate designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, risk, safety, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists; travel to other facilities as needed.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
- Understanding or working knowledge of Pro-E and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and succinctly.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the summer program from May or June through August 2027.
- Completion of sophomore year is preferred.
