Mechanical Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, United States; full-time, onsite internship from May to August for 12–14 weeks. Access to ITAR-controlled products and technical data is restricted to US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.

What you will do

• Implement manufacturing process improvements and support design-for-manufacturability and cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborate with mentors and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process automation.
• Apply structured engineering methods to improve process control, production yields, and manufacturing practices.
• Create and update process documentation and work instructions.
• Lead capital project efforts addressing production capacity and technology capability issues.
• Present project updates to local leadership and participate in workshops or trade shows with limited travel.

Requirements

• Current sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience applying engineering concepts to solve problems.
• Knowledge of project management, structured problem solving, data-based decision-making, and statistical tools.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Must comply with US export-control requirements, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC policies.
