EHS Intern (Manufacturing)

Crane Aerospace & Electronics develops aerospace and industrial products, with this role supporting Crane Resistoflex manufacturing operations.

What you will do

• Identify workplace hazards through safety audits, inspections, ergonomic evaluations, and risk assessments, then recommend corrective actions.
• Design and implement manufacturing process and control improvements that increase safety, productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to mitigate equipment, process, and facility risks.
• Resolve quality issues, analyze trends, determine root causes, reduce process variability, and improve yields.
• Own cost-reduction and continuous-improvement projects from feasibility and design through capital approval, implementation, and sustainment.
• Support IATF 16949 quality improvements and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, PED 2014/68/EU, API Spec. Q1, and API 6D requirements.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment and engage with employees at all levels.
• Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Ability to understand process and product specifications and support cross-functional projects.

Nice to have

• Exposure to lean manufacturing and 5S practices.
• Experience with data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.
• Basic understanding of industrial assembly, fabrication, and machining processes.
• Working experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
