Senior Specialist, Financial Navigating (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; candidates must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $20.45–$22.50 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Guide patients through their financial journey during hospitalization and for up to 30 days after discharge.
• Screen self-pay patients and complete Medicaid, disability, and financial assistance applications.
• Verify or secure coverage, create estimates, support point-of-service collections, and review denials.
• Provide face-to-face patient education, triage financial questions, and resolve issues during the patient stay.
• Conduct patient rounding and support in-house review calls, including Labor & Delivery, newborn, and NICU cases.
• Identify process gaps, support improvement projects, and collaborate with case management, social workers, and physician liaisons.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in revenue cycle management, financial counseling, patient access, customer service, or public benefits eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Medicaid screening, financial assistance, payment models, workqueues, point-of-service collections, and denial review.
• Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and patient-service skills.
• Openness to innovation, including the use of AI to improve processes and patient experiences.
• Must be able to work onsite and reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.

Nice to have

• Prior patient access or physician-based experience.
• Experience across multiple revenue cycle functions.
