Staff Electrical Designer (Nuclear Energy)

What you will do

• Serve as a technical authority for electrical and instrumentation design across reactor, nuclear fuel, power conversion, and power distribution scopes.
• Produce, own, check, and approve complex one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel schedules, load lists, motor elementaries, and installation drawings.
• Own CAD standards, EPLAN and AVEVA Electrical database architecture, master data, templates, and drawing production practices.
• Lead cable, raceway, control panel, enclosure, grounding, hazardous-area, and signal/power segregation design.
• Coordinate 3D electrical and I&C models, resolve interdisciplinary clashes, and support constructability and field walkdowns.
• Manage vendor and contractor drawing reviews, construction RFIs, as-built documentation, revision control, and turnover quality.

Requirements

• Associate degree or technical diploma in electrical design, drafting, or engineering technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of electrical or I&C design experience in power generation, process industries, or industrial facilities.
• Experience owning complete electrical and I&C drawing scopes through design, construction support, and as-built turnover.
• Expert-level EPLAN and/or AVEVA Electrical administration experience, including project structures, master data, and report templates.
• Strong knowledge of NEC requirements, cable and raceway separation, 3D plant design coordination, field walkdowns, redlining, and construction support.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Nice to have

• Experience with both EPLAN and AVEVA Electrical, UL 508A control panels, medium-voltage distribution, or utility interconnections.
• Familiarity with nuclear quality requirements such as NQA-1 and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B.
• Experience in nuclear, cleanroom, glovebox, or contamination-controlled environments.
• CAD automation or scripting experience, including EPLAN API or AutoLISP.
• ADDA, NICET, or equivalent certification, or familiarity with IEC 62443 and NIST SP 800-82.
