Senior Flight Simulator Engineer (FSTD)

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; onsite technical operations at a new aviation training centre

What you will do

• Support flight simulator training devices and other training devices through maintenance calls, device setup, conversions, demonstrations, simulator flight tests, and snag clearance.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, daily readiness checks, recurrent QTG runs, aircraft database updates, and IOS lesson plan updates.
• Diagnose and resolve training-device issues, AOGs, authority issues, and recurring faults using hardware refurbishment, modifications, diagnostic tools, and maintenance-management systems.
• Coordinate maintenance planning, readiness activities, reports, technical meetings, audits, NAA evaluations, and SLA performance against operational KPIs.
• Act as Shift Lead, Team Lead, Device Caretaker, or Task Caretaker when assigned and develop procedures for routine and non-routine tasks.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, provide on-the-job training, and support complex corrective-maintenance work and technical projects.

Requirements

• Technical college diploma or degree in electronics, electrical, mechanical, aeronautical, or aerospace engineering, plus at least 7 years of related experience.
• Excellent spoken and written English is required.
• Experience with aircraft and FSTD terminology, schematics, preventive maintenance, daily readiness, and flight-simulation-device regulations including EASA and FAA standards.
• Strong troubleshooting knowledge of electronic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as aircraft systems, avionics, motion, and visual systems.
• Knowledge of analog and digital principles, test equipment, software diagnostics, computer architecture, networking, operating systems, and programming languages including C, C++, and FORTRAN.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, operate with minimal supervision, coordinate maintenance activities, and mentor junior colleagues.
