Warehouse Technical Operative (Food Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Tannochside, Uddingston, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. Permanent full-time role with a two-week rotating shift pattern: 6:00–14:30 and 14:00–22:30. Applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Food ingredient manufacturing business producing sauces, bakery products, ice cream toppings, plant-based products and gluten-free offerings for leading food brands.

What you will do

• Manage stock rotation, traceability, inventory accuracy and regular cycle counts.
• Use the ERP system to support stock control, planning and warehouse operations.
• Complete intake, outload and operational documentation accurately.
• Support the induction and training of new warehouse colleagues.
• Deputise for the Shift Manager when required and collaborate with Operations, Planning, Engineering and Quality.
• Maintain safe, hygienic and audit-ready warehouse and yard areas while supporting quality processes and operational KPIs.

Requirements

• Previous warehouse experience in a busy production, manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Practical experience operating a counterbalance forklift is essential; refresher or retraining will be provided if the current licence has expired.
• Knowledge of stock control, inventory management, stock rotation, traceability and cycle counting.
• Confidence using computerised warehouse or ERP systems, with IFS experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards, strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and effective communication skills.
• Permanent right to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• FMCG or food manufacturing experience.
• Experience operating Aisle-Master, Combi-Lift, stacker or electric pallet truck equipment.
