Investment Analyst (Equities)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; employees work from the office 4 days per week with flexibility to work remotely 1 day per week

What you will do

• Support Equity Product Management across portfolio analysis, product integrity, product development, marketing, and client servicing.
• Analyze portfolio positioning, performance, attribution, style exposures, risk indicators, benchmarks, and competitive positioning.
• Prepare portfolio reviews, investment updates, market commentary, charts, briefing notes, and other materials for clients, prospects, and consultants.
• Translate, adapt, and quality-check selected materials in Japanese and English for local-market use.
• Support product and market inquiries, RFPs, due diligence questionnaires, and internal product reviews.
• Improve recurring materials, databases, workflows, and processes through technology, AI, templates, automation, and data management.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in investment management, equity research, investment consulting, product management, reporting, capital markets, or another financial-services role.
• Strong interest in equity investing, capital markets, and investment management.
• Analytical and quantitative capability with portfolio, market, performance, attribution, risk, and benchmark data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with comfort working with large datasets and improving processes through technology, automation, and AI tools.
• High attention to detail, organization, initiative, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.

Nice to have

• CFA, CMA, MBA, or progress toward a relevant investment qualification.
• Investment management, equity research, or product management experience.
