Robot Operator (Physical AI)

Location: On-site in Palo Alto, California; remote work is not available.

What you will do

• Operate leader/follower rigs and other robot control setups for pick-and-place, sorting, fastening, connector seating, tool-use, and other industrial manipulation tasks.
• Run repeated demonstrations to a consistent quality standard and produce usable training data for foundation models.
• Review and label episodes, reject poor-quality demonstrations, and maintain clear session logs.
• Perform safety checks, follow stop and lockout procedures, and raise operational concerns early.
• Develop repeatable approaches for new tasks, document findings, and report ergonomics, instruction, and setup issues to engineers and researchers.
• Train new operators and improve written procedures as task areas mature.

Requirements

• Authorization to work on-site in Palo Alto, California is required.
• Approximately one year or more of work experience with personal accountability for output; no degree is required.
• Genuine interest in robots and AI, with strong hand/eye coordination and spatial reasoning.
• A demonstrated safety mindset and comfort following procedures around powered equipment.
• Ability to maintain consistent quality during high-repetition work and communicate clearly in written session logs.
• Ability to remain on your feet and moving for roughly 5–6 hours per day, with seated and wheelchair-based operation accommodations available.

Nice to have

• Experience with humanoid or mobile robots, VR/AR systems, or motion capture.
• Exposure to ML training data production.
• Light scripting with Python or shell.
• Teaching or coaching experience.
• Manufacturing, production, or safety-sensitive shift-work experience.
