Automation Technician (AI Training)

Location: Remote; applicants must be based in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom

Salary: $40–$125+ per hour, depending on task difficulty and specialization

What you will do

• Write challenging, closed-ended engineering problems that require practical reasoning rather than simple lookup.
• Derive, verify, and document correct answers with clear worked solutions.
• Test problems against AI systems and refine them when the models solve them too easily.
• Review AI-generated engineering analysis, designs, and technical documentation for correctness and real-world applicability.
• Review other contributors’ problems and solutions for rigor, ambiguity, and accuracy.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in design, product development, manufacturing, thermal, structural, automotive, aerospace, HVAC, robotics, energy, or a related field.
• Fluency with relevant tools such as CAD, FEA/CFD, or MATLAB/Python for engineering analysis.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics of materials, dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to write precise technical problems and clear worked solutions in fluent written English.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, completed or in progress.
• Must be based in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom.
