Director of Export & Compliance (Quantum Computing)

Location: Hybrid role based in Broomfield, Colorado, or Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; employees are expected to work at their assigned location, with approved remote work up to 2 days per week. Candidates must be U.S. Persons and must not be nationals of the People's Republic of China or Russia unless also U.S. citizens.

Salary: $175,000–$235,000 annually, inclusive of bonus target.

What you will do

• Lead the export control and national security compliance program, including policies, procedures, training, internal controls, and long-term strategy.
• Manage commodity jurisdiction and ECCN/USML classification, export licenses, TAAs, MLAs, license exceptions, deemed exports, and technology access controls.
• Direct restricted-party screening, end-use and end-user assessments, voluntary self-disclosures, government inquiries, audits, investigations, and regulatory engagements.
• Oversee anticorruption, import, procurement, conflict-of-interest, risk assessment, audit, governance, and compliance reporting programs.
• Advise executive leadership and the board on compliance implications of business expansion, partnerships, acquisitions, technology development, and market entry.
• Manage and develop the Principal Export Control Specialist and Compliance Project Manager while embedding compliance practices across engineering, product, supply chain, HR, and business development.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
• 10+ years of export control and government compliance experience in technology and defense companies.
• 7+ years managing relationships with BIS, DDTC, OFAC, or equivalent government agencies.
• 7+ years of experience with commodity jurisdiction, ECCN/USML classification, licensing, deemed exports, voluntary disclosures, EAR, ITAR, and OFAC sanctions.
• Experience building and leading compliance teams, including people management.
• U.S. Person status required: U.S. citizenship, permanent residency/green card, asylum, or refugee status. Candidates must not be nationals of China or Russia unless also U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• ECTI certification and experience with technology control plans or classified program compliance.
• Familiarity with FAR and DFARS government contracting requirements.
• Experience implementing compliance technology, including visual compliance and OCR screening tools.
• Experience developing compliance strategy and influencing executive-level decisions.
