Data Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote within the United States. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident and able to obtain a U.S. Government Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured cloud-based data.
• Build and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses for analytics, reporting, and business intelligence.
• Perform backend SQL and NoSQL testing, data validation, post-deployment checks, and ingestion troubleshooting.
• Translate requirements into data models, workflows, technical specifications, and end-to-end pipeline solutions.
• Develop automation and scripts to process diverse data types while monitoring and scaling cloud data platforms.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data warehouse development and cloud-based analysis of aggregated data from multiple sources.
• 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining scalable data stores for business analysis.
• Experience with SQL, Python, scalable ETL/ELT workflows, and Cloudera or Hadoop.
• Experience with backend SQL and NoSQL database testing, including data validation and post-deployment testing.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• U.S. Citizenship or lawful permanent residency, plus the ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust 5 or another required suitability determination.

Nice to have

• AWS Glue, AWS Athena, Postgres, Redshift, MySQL, or Snowflake.
• Spark, Databricks, Hive, AWS EMR, Kafka, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Real-time data and streaming applications, UNIX/Linux, shell scripting, and Agile engineering practices.
• Experience using generative AI coding tools and working in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
