Sr. Infrastructure Engineer, TechOps CICD (Cybersecurity)

Location: USA - Remote, CA; occasional travel for team meetings may be required.

Salary: $140,000–$215,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the design and operation of on-premises virtualization environments using QEMU/KVM and OpenNebula.
• Drive migration from VMware to a KVM-based Infrastructure as Code private cloud.
• Contribute to the migration from TrueNAS to PowerFlex, including storage cluster design and operational handoff.
• Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Packer, and Ansible.
• Operate and optimize distributed storage using NFS, CIFS, and block storage protocols.
• Monitor and maintain critical R&D environments, investigate root causes, resolve systemic incidents, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in large-scale production infrastructure environments.
• Expertise with QEMU/KVM or comparable hypervisor platforms such as VMware or Xen, plus experience with OpenNebula or similar private cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, Terraform, Packer, Ansible, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience operating distributed storage infrastructure, enterprise operating systems, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI, and Git-based repositories.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and lead effectively across distributed teams in multiple time zones.
• Security mindset, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience using AI technologies to improve workflows and decision-making.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenStack, Dell PowerFlex, TrueNAS, bare-metal provisioning, Rancher, or on-premises Kubernetes.
• Experience with Windows infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, SMB/CIFS, and WDS/MDT.
