ATR - Human Factors Specialist (M/F) (Aeronautics)

Location: Toulouse Area, France; full-time role with remote working available as part of the benefits package.

What you will do

• Conduct pilot task, workload, situational-awareness, and human-error analyses for normal and abnormal procedures.
• Evaluate cockpit human-machine interfaces, including information legibility, prioritization, alerting logic, modes, and transitions.
• Identify human factors risks such as information overload, interface ambiguity, and selection or comprehension errors.
• Assess complex cockpit functions and configurations against CS/FAR-25.1302, AMC, and GM requirements.
• Prepare compliance demonstrations, certification dossiers, and human factors deliverables, and participate in discussions with certification authorities.
• Support system designers and lead projects with partners and universities to advance aviation safety.

Requirements

• University degree in engineering, human factors, ergonomics, systems engineering, cognitive psychology, or a comparable field.
• 5–10 years of experience in the aeronautical sector, preferably with an aircraft manufacturer or equipment supplier.
• Experience with human factors methods for complex systems, including task analysis, workload assessment, user-centred design, human-error risk identification, and certification reporting.
• Knowledge of aircraft systems, flight operations, avionics, and commercial aircraft certification regulations including CS/FAR-25, CS/FAR-25.1302, PART 21, and related AMC/GM.
• Fluent English with negotiation ability and fluent French are required. Italian is a plus.
• Strong stakeholder communication, autonomy, initiative, and the ability to justify and defend positions in sensitive situations.

• Experience with airlines or aviation authorities.
• Pilot license.
• Italian language skills.
