Development Engineer (m/f/d) - Mechanical Analysis and Testing of Space Structures (Aerospace)

Location: Immenstaad am Bodensee, Germany; work at the Airbus site

What you will do

• Perform static and dynamic structural analyses for aerospace structures and verify results through manual calculations.
• Conduct mechanical performance analyses for high-precision space instruments and structures.
• Simulate and support vibration testing for satellites and their sub-components.
• Develop and validate finite element models using Hyperworks and NASTRAN.
• Verify joining elements according to VDI and ESA standards.
• Support Matlab-based tool development and document analytical models, processes, and test results.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• First professional experience in the design and verification of aerospace structures.
• Advanced knowledge of static and dynamic structural analysis, FEM, and manual calculation methods.
• Proficiency in NASTRAN and Hyperworks.
• Understanding of space-specific requirements and a proactive, structured approach to independent and collaborative work.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience with fiber-composite structure design and calculation.
• Proficiency in German.
