Backend Software Engineer (Mid-Senior) (Go)

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; hybrid work model

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year, with potential additional incentives including commission targets, restricted stock units, and bonuses.

hirify.global is building an application security platform that uses software call graphs to help organizations identify, prioritize, and fix critical risks across their software estates.

What you will do

• Develop core functionality for an application security platform that secures source code from the IDE through deployment.
• Design and deliver backend features for a distributed system with a sophisticated monorepo architecture.
• Build and optimize core services, including the API Gateway and API servers.
• Enhance a dynamic cloud scanning platform to support diverse build tools and toolchains.
• Develop AI-driven code security capabilities and tools used across engineering teams.
• Apply observability practices to improve product reliability and availability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3–5 years of engineering experience.
• Approximately 3 years of experience with Golang, microservices, and distributed architecture.
• Experience with scalable distributed systems, domain-driven design, load balancing, and horizontal and vertical scaling.
• Familiarity with build tools and toolchains such as Maven, pip, and npm.
• Ability to discuss architectural trade-offs, communicate effectively, and adapt to changing requirements.
• Experience using AI and automated code-generation tools to deliver secure, production-grade software.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of secure software design, certificate management, OAuth2/OIDC, and secure change implementation.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Lambda functions, or other cloud-native technologies.
• Knowledge of security, fraud prevention, and anomaly detection.
