Product Manager - Accessories (Automotive)

Location: Carson, California, United States; travel to suppliers and Slate office sites is required 10–25% of the time. Applicants must be authorized to work permanently in the United States.

Annual base pay: $108,000–$149,000 USD.

What you will do

• Own an exterior or interior accessories category from concept through launch, performance management, and product sunset.
• Translate customer needs into personalized automotive products and keep the portfolio aligned with market demand.
• Build and defend business cases, define features and specifications, make trade-off decisions, and lead execution.
• Improve the product development process and manage approved products on the line plan.
• Coordinate Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Brand, Commercial, suppliers, and vendors.
• Secure product licensing and reseller agreements, and present product updates and recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or an equivalent background; exceptional experience may substitute for a formal degree.
• 6+ years of experience with hardware products and programs, preferably in automotive or powersports accessories, lifestyle accessories, engineering, or product development.
• Proven experience taking products from concept to creation, supported by strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with partners, suppliers, and vendors and build productive relationships.
• Comfort operating in a startup environment, handling ambiguity, defining problems, and influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• MS or MBA.
• Experience in automotive or powersports accessories, lifestyle accessories, or related hardware categories.
