Data Scientist/Engineer (Hybrid - Boston, AI)

Location: US - Boston; hybrid work arrangement

Base salary: $100,000–$110,000 USD per year, plus incentive pay and benefits.

What you will do

• Contribute to the US insurance roadmap and deliver solutions for structured data, free text, documents, and images.
• Build and productionize data pipelines optimized for LLMs and multimodal models.
• Design, develop, and deploy LLM-based solutions using RAG, embeddings, instruction tuning, and model evaluation.
• Experiment with agentic AI frameworks and develop MVPs for autonomous subrogation solutions.
• Create agent tools for querying databases, calling external APIs, and calculating impact force from telemetry data.
• Lead client workshops, present prototypes, gather feedback, and help define roadmap priorities.

Requirements

• Expert proficiency in production-level object-oriented programming for scalable and reliable systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, generative AI, RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, and model tuning.
• Strong ML fundamentals and experience across model evaluation, monitoring, versioning, and production deployment.
• Experience building data pipelines for document, OCR, and multimodal workflows.
• Experience integrating agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agent SDK, CrewAI, A2A, or MCP with Databricks or Azure-hosted models.
• Ability to engage with clients, translate business needs into technical solutions, and manage stakeholder expectations.

Nice to have

• Expertise in Mosaic AI, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and the Databricks ecosystem.
• Understanding of Spark data architecture.
• Experience using MLflow, including AI Playground experimentation, prompt engineering, and model evaluation.
