TL;DR
Data Engineer (Python) (ETL/classified platforms): Building and maintaining ETL pipelines on a stand-alone classified data platform with an accent on graph databases, data integration, and end-to-end computing environment administration. Focus on implementing orchestration and storage solutions, configuring server and network infrastructure, and conducting vulnerability assessments in a secured environment.
Location: On-site in the Washington, D.C. metro area, with occasional domestic travel possible
U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance are required; the ability to obtain SCI is also required. Start date: September 28, 2026.

What you will do
- Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize ETL pipelines on a stand-alone classified data platform.
- Develop and implement tools and methods for extracting, cleaning, parsing, storing, and retrieving data.
- Work with data owners and analysts to understand data provenance, formats, and context, and provide stakeholder feedback.
- Create data-holdings reports and technical documentation while communicating updates and issues to technical staff.
- Administer the computing environment, including server hardware, software, rack-mounted hardware, and stand-alone networks.
- Perform system maintenance, vulnerability assessments, security audits, and issue resolution.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI.
- U.S. citizenship.
- 3–5 years of professional experience with Python, data engineering, ETL pipelines, data storage and retrieval optimization, pipeline orchestration, and practical data science.
- Hands-on experience with graph modeling and graph databases.
- Working knowledge of industry-standard data engineering tools and strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical work in an on-site classified environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with Open Metadata, PostgreSQL, Data Load Tool, Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect.
- Experience with Neo4j or Amazon Neptune.
- Experience with air-gapped or classified environments, Linux or Windows server administration, STIG compliance, and vulnerability scanning.
