What you will do
- Design, build, maintain, and monitor ETL/ELT pipelines for healthcare and TPA data, including claims, provider, and eligibility sources.
- Orchestrate workflows with Airflow, CloudWatch, ECS, and DAGs while following CI/CD, observability, and governance practices.
- Develop data applications and workflows with Python, SQL, Django, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and cloud-native databases.
- Support EDI file transfers, claims adjudication, audits, reporting, data extraction, cleansing, documentation, and source-system investigations.
- Implement automated data-quality validation and compliance controls, troubleshoot pipeline incidents, and contribute to data-modeling decisions.
- Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, product, reporting, and account management teams; onboard and mentor junior data engineers and automate repetitive workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering; experience with system or data analysis and process improvement.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, including complex queries, plus experience with Airflow, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and AWS RDS; understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and relational versus non-relational models.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, JIRA, BitBucket Git, BitBucket Pipelines, Excel, and analytical tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or MicroStrategy.
- Healthcare EDI, OMS or HL7 files, AWS services, Snowflake or Redshift, Terraform, and an AWS certification are preferred or advantageous.
