Backend Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Remote International; 100% remote. Core team time is 10:00–16:00 CET, with flexibility depending on the team.

Salary: Salary in USD under a B2B contract with the US company.

What you will do

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs used across the platform.
• Develop solutions with C#/.NET, relational databases, queues, caching, and external integrations.
• Improve performance, reliability, observability, and maintainability of production systems.
• Evolve the architecture across microservices and the existing monolith, including refactoring and monolith decomposition.
• Own technical solutions from design through production in collaboration with product, frontend, QA, DevOps, and backend engineering.
• Support eCommerce, checkout, payments, inventory, reporting, asynchronous processing, and other customer-facing flows.

Requirements

• Strong commercial backend experience with C# and .NET.
• Experience building and supporting production systems, APIs, databases, and distributed services.
• Experience with microservices, queues, caching, asynchronous processing, or background jobs.
• Ability to troubleshoot production and performance issues and make technical decisions.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• English sufficient for written communication and occasional calls.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-load systems, eCommerce, payments, checkout, order management, inventory, or reporting.
• Experience decomposing monoliths or improving legacy systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, or monitoring.
• Experience working in product companies or startup-like environments.

Hiring process

• Intro call with the People Team, up to 40 minutes.
• System design interview, 90 minutes, followed by a technical interview, 90 minutes.
• Final interview, 60 minutes.
