Exterior/Interior Lighting Studio Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Gothenburg, Sweden; work will be performed in a studio in Sweden. The assignment includes occasional travel to China, and the candidate must be able to obtain a Chinese travel visa.

What you will do

• Represent design intent and communicate design needs within engineering.
• Translate engineering, legislative, and manufacturing requirements into feasible lighting solutions.
• Generate, document, and validate technical concepts for exterior and interior vehicle lighting.
• Set up new light concepts in CATIA and optical software, and document design feasibility and critical issues.
• Benchmark competitors and secure competitive lighting solutions.
• Scout lighting technologies and coordinate presentations and workshops with innovation companies and suppliers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in the automotive industry and a technical university degree or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of lamp technology, lighting engineering, and legal requirements.
• Experience with automotive product concepts and component design for both exterior and interior lighting.
• Very good CATIA V5 and Teamcenter skills; experience with MS Office and Jira.
• Understanding of vehicle development, engineering validation, component manufacturing, tooling requirements, and lead times.
• Fluent English is required; occasional travel to China and the ability to obtain a Chinese travel visa are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with SPEOS, LucidShape, or LightTools.
• Design studio experience and Mandarin language skills.
• Experience supporting physical lamp prototypes for lighting concept assessment.
