Marion Controls Engineer (PLC)

Location: Marion, Indiana, United States; onsite support for the Marion facility

What you will do

• Design, develop, install, troubleshoot, modify, maintain, upgrade, and back up PLC and computer software for production equipment.
• Develop and debug control logic, improve complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment, and analyze PLC programs for failures or improvements.
• Support maintenance teams with electrical and electronic troubleshooting, training, AC/DC drive systems, repairs, and operational safety.
• Manage engineering and capital projects from cost estimation, design, approvals, procurement, and installation through startup, cost control, safety, and implementation.
• Coordinate external electrical engineering, construction, consulting, and critical-component repair providers.
• Maintain electrical documentation, software backups, process-variable records, network communications, spare-parts recommendations, and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of manufacturing experience; wire and cable experience is preferred.
• Advanced computer skills, including PLC programming and CAD; Wonderware experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of governmental and industry EH&S regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or an associate degree in Electrical/Electronics, is preferred but not required.

Nice to have

• Wire and cable manufacturing experience.
• Experience with Wonderware.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or an associate degree in Electrical/Electronics.
