Field Operator – Traditional Locator

Location: Across US metros with up to 100% domestic travel across the United States, including access to major airports such as New York, Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, and San Jose.

Hourly rate: $33–35 per hour plus overtime.

What you will do

• Operate underground discovery tools, patented carts, drones, and traditional utility-locating equipment.
• Identify underground assets and infrastructure using electromagnetic, magnetic, metal, GPR, seismic, and related sensing technologies.
• Resolve operational issues on site in coordination with R&D and operations managers.
• Document site information, interactions, and operation reports in organizational software.
• Travel to and perform field operations in urban and remote environments across the United States.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in traditional utility locating, SUE, or underground utility-locating field operations.
• Flexibility for up to 100% domestic travel across the United States and Monday–Friday scheduling.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours per day, work occasional night shifts, and handle equipment weighing 20–40 lbs.
• Driver’s license and ability to ride in a vehicle for up to four hours to reach job sites.
• Excellent English communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to troubleshoot technology on site.

Nice to have

• Background in earth sciences, engineering, construction, or utility mapping.
• Experience in transportation, utilities, or construction.
• OSHA 10 Certificate.
• FAA Part 107 drone pilot certification.
