UI Architect (MineStar Onboard)

Location: Onsite five days a week at either the Laval, Quebec or Montreal, Quebec office, Canada. Up to 10% international travel. Relocation assistance and Canadian work authorization sponsorship are not available.

Salary: $122,200–$152,760 per year.

What you will do

• Define and evolve scalable UI architecture for MineStar Onboard mining and construction platforms.
• Establish reusable navigation models, state-management approaches, shared components, design patterns, and versioning strategies.
• Translate complex customer and operational needs into intuitive embedded UI solutions with Product Owners, System Architects, and UI/UX teams.
• Integrate UI layers with embedded systems, APIs, infrastructure, and backend services while addressing data contracts, security, error handling, telemetry, and reliability.
• Lead the design, development, testing, and release of performant embedded web applications, including automated unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Provide architectural governance, design reviews, technical mentorship, documentation, specifications, estimates, and delivery guidance across scaled Agile teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in software, electrical, or computer engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• Extensive professional experience delivering production web applications as a web application developer, UI Architect, or equivalent.
• Experience developing embedded web UIs with HTML5, CSS, TypeScript or JavaScript, and Angular.
• Strong UI architecture skills covering navigation, state management, shared component governance, versioning, Web Components, and micro-frontend composition.
• Experience with 3D and map-based visualization using WebGL, OpenLayers, or three.js, plus performance optimization for constrained embedded environments.
• Understanding of API integration, secure UI design, error handling, logging and telemetry, and automated UI testing.

Nice to have

• Fluency in English and French, written and spoken.
• Experience with C++, Python or other scripting languages, GNSS, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, UDP, SSL, real-time operating systems, or WebAssembly.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence concepts, technologies, and methodologies applied in an industrial domain.
