TL;DR
Head of Exchange Infrastructure (Crypto): Owning and consolidating Kraken’s exchange platform across matching engines, custody, algo infrastructure, and APIs with an accent on low-latency architecture, market structure, and platform standardization. Focus on leading product managers, defining p99 latency and resiliency metrics, and sequencing migrations across derivatives and spot markets without disrupting live trading.
Location: United States; remote
Salary: $177.4K–$395.1K annual base salary, with additional bonus and equity opportunities.

What you will do
- Own the product vision and roadmap for the exchange layer, including the matching engine, core infrastructure, third-party custody, algo engine, and API engine.
- Lead and develop a team of four to five product managers while remaining hands-on with roadmaps and specifications.
- Consolidate multiple matching engines into one platform, beginning with US derivatives and expanding to international derivatives and spot.
- Build an interface-agnostic platform for product teams and trading interfaces.
- Define and manage success metrics including p99 latency, throughput, uptime, and resiliency.
- Coordinate product, engineering, risk, credit, and compliance teams to sequence migrations without disrupting live markets.
Requirements
- Senior product leadership experience in exchange, trading, or other high-performance platforms.
- Experience managing and developing product managers on an independent senior team.
- Strong understanding of matching engine and market data architecture, including low-latency tradeoffs.
- Experience building platforms for internal customers and creating long-term product visions and roadmaps.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional influence skills.
- Engineering experience building or operating high-performance systems before moving into product, with a strong interest in crypto markets and market structure.
Nice to have
- Experience across both spot and derivatives venues.
- Experience at a crypto exchange operating at comparable scale, volume, and uptime expectations.
- Experience building platform roadmaps that integrate with adjacent product organizations.
