Subtitle Localization Specialist – Spanish

What you will do

• Translate and localize subtitles from English into Spanish while preserving meaning, tone, and style.
• Adapt dialogue, expressions, and cultural references for Spanish-speaking audiences.
• Review subtitles for accuracy, readability, timing, grammar, spelling, and consistency.
• Follow platform-specific linguistic and technical guidelines.
• Collaborate with project managers, editors, and quality teams to incorporate feedback and deliver projects on time.

Requirements

• Native or near-native Spanish with a strong understanding of cultural nuances and regional language use.
• Strong spoken and written English at upper-B2 or C1 level.
• 1–2 years of experience in subtitle translation, editing, or localization.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with localization tools such as Phrase.
• A degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Experience with streaming content or accessibility standards.
