AI Engineering Lead (AI)

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia

Base salary: EUR 3,200–5,300 per month for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor engineers while promoting quality, ownership, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.
• Provide technical leadership for AI-enabled software solutions and platforms.
• Drive architecture and implementation decisions for scalable, production-grade systems.
• Oversee services, integrations, APIs, and workflows supporting AI and agentic applications.
• Establish standards for testing, deployment, monitoring, quality assurance, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver measurable business value.

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing, building, and operating production-grade software systems.
• Strong software engineering experience with Python, TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, or similar technologies.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture, engineering practices, testing strategies, and CI/CD.
• Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and making decisions in complex environments.
• Understanding of distributed systems, cloud environments, and modern software platforms.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI-enabled applications and agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with LLM application patterns, RAG, tool calling, and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with cloud AI services such as Azure AI, MLOps, or model lifecycle practices.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry or AIP.
• Insurance, reinsurance, or financial services experience.
