Design Engineer (Powertrain)

Location: Cavriago, Robassomero, Torino, or Bolzano, Italy

Indicative starting compensation: €32,000 per year

What you will do

• Create 3D models for powertrain and vehicle components and assemblies.
• Develop 2D CAD drawings for manufacturing in accordance with applicable standards and production technologies.
• Maintain design documentation, bills of materials, technical specifications, and component data in hirify.global systems.
• Perform design checks, data quality reviews, engineering layout calculations, and simplified simulations to assess manufacturability and optimize parts and assemblies.
• Support lead engineers, project managers, resident engineers, customers, and suppliers during project execution.
• Prepare technical materials for training, knowledge management, patents, and internal part procurement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Practical experience designing powertrain or vehicle components.
• Proficiency with one or more 3D CAD systems, ideally Catia and Solidworks.
• Experience with shape, orientation, and location tolerances, including GD&T.
• Experience designing and industrializing sheet metal components and welded assemblies, including bending, stamping, laser cutting, and manufacturing feasibility assessment.
• Business-fluent English, intercultural teamwork skills, and availability for business trips.
