Financial Data Engineer (AI/LLM)

What you will do

• Research, evaluate, ingest, cleanse, standardize, process, store, and serve securities, market, fundamentals, corporate action, index, risk, news, and research data.
• Design unified data models and integration frameworks for multiple markets, trading calendars, time zones, currencies, identifiers, listings, and data lifecycles.
• Build and optimize batch-stream data pipelines with Flink for low latency, high throughput, stable operation, and controlled cost.
• Establish data quality and service-level frameworks covering reconciliation, anomaly detection, monitoring, alerting, replay, backfill, and fault recovery.
• Evaluate vendors, exchanges, APIs, file feeds, and compliance sources while defining primary, backup, and alternative data-source strategies with product, procurement, legal, and compliance teams.
• Define data semantics, metrics, and service contracts with trading product, data platform, AI engineering, and algorithm teams; improve metadata, lineage, testing, CI/CD, orchestration, and capacity governance.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, with 5+ years of data development, big data, or data platform experience.
• Strong knowledge of stock markets, trading mechanisms, market data, fundamentals, financial reports, corporate actions, valuation, and major market events.
• Proficiency in SQL and Flink, including large-scale real-time processing, performance tuning, stability governance, and production troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in at least one of Java, Scala, or Python, plus familiarity with Kafka, Spark, and distributed storage or analytics technologies such as ClickHouse, Doris, HBase, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience with data modeling, scheduling, metadata, lineage, governance, service levels, reconciliation, anomaly detection, backfill, degradation strategies, and cross-system consistency.
• Strong business understanding and collaboration skills, including the ability to translate trading, risk, research, or AI problems into data models and contracts.

Nice to have

• Experience with stock data at brokerages, market data services, financial data, wealth management, or fintech platforms.
• Knowledge of US stock market structure, trading calendars, pre-market and post-market sessions, corporate actions, and adjustment rules.
• Experience with derivatives, ETFs, indices, tokenized products, low-latency market data, securities master data, quantitative research, or backtesting systems.
• Experience with anomaly detection, knowledge graphs, financial entity alignment, financial datasets for LLMs, or retrieval-augmented generation.
