Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid work with time split between the Lisbon office and remote work

What you will do
- Design, build, test, and operate security controls for AI/ML applications, platforms, models, APIs, agents, and supporting infrastructure.
- Deploy security tooling and automation primarily on AWS and integrate security validation into MLOps, LLMOps, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Threat model AI systems and translate risks into engineering requirements, mitigations, tests, and controls.
- Secure generative AI and agentic AI systems, including RAG architectures, vector databases, model endpoints, tools, identity boundaries, and external integrations.
- Secure containerized AI workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, and implement infrastructure and security controls as code with Terraform or similar tools.
- Develop monitoring, detection, standards, and technical guidance while partnering with AI, platform engineering, and cybersecurity teams on threat investigation and remediation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, application security, cloud security, or a related discipline.
- Strong programming or scripting skills and solid knowledge of application security, cloud-native technologies, threat modeling, and security testing; AWS experience is preferred.
- Understanding of AI/ML systems and their lifecycle, including model training, inference, APIs, data pipelines, MLOps, and LLMOps.
- Familiarity with LLM and generative AI risks, AI agents, RAG architectures, vector databases, embeddings, model APIs, and AI application frameworks.
- Fluency in English required. Domestic and international travel of up to 10% may be required.
Nice to have
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, MLflow, SageMaker, or equivalent AI/ML platforms.
- Knowledge of data protection techniques such as encryption, data classification, DLP, anonymization, tokenization, and privacy-enhancing technologies.
- Familiarity with GxP, GDPR, the EU AI Act, HIPAA, OWASP LLM and GenAI guidance, MITRE ATLAS, or the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, cloud security, or AI security certifications.
