AI & Digital Solutions Technologist (AI/Machine Learning): Building machine learning, computer vision, generative AI, and digital workflow solutions for laboratory, industrial, and R&D applications with an accent on experimental data, inspection, SOP intelligence, and lab automation. Focus on developing reproducible models and deployment pipelines, evaluating model robustness and explainability, and integrating AI tools into practical laboratory workflows.

What you will do
- Formulate laboratory, process, inspection, and experimental challenges as machine learning, statistical analysis, optimization, and decision-support problems.
- Build and evaluate regression, classification, clustering, anomaly-detection, sequential-learning, computer vision, image, and video models.
- Prepare datasets, engineer features, prevent data leakage, validate models, analyze errors, and explain results to laboratory specialists.
- Develop dashboards, alerts, reports, batch-scoring scripts, inference pipelines, APIs, and user-facing prototypes for laboratory workflows.
- Apply LLMs, VLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, and knowledge-assistant concepts to technical document and R&D knowledge workflows.
- Collaborate with R&D, laboratory operations, process specialists, engineering, data engineering, and IT teams on digital tools, automation, monitoring, and deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, engineering, materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience applying machine learning, statistical analysis, or computer vision to laboratory, industrial, process, experimental, inspection, or R&D data.
- Strong Python skills, including pandas, NumPy, scipy, scikit-learn, visualization, data preparation, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and reproducible analysis.
- Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning, anomaly detection, model validation, cross-validation, error analysis, overfitting control, data leakage prevention, and metric selection.
- Experience with ML, deep learning, or computer vision libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, or Hugging Face.
- Ability to define practical data science tasks and success metrics, document models and experiments, understand deployment considerations, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with computer vision, defect detection, segmentation, measurement, monitoring, video analytics, or experimental R&D decision support.
- Experience with LLMs, VLMs, video foundation models, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, multimodal AI, or knowledge-assistant applications.
- Familiarity with Azure, SQL, MongoDB, vector databases, LangChain, Docker, TensorRT, Triton, or edge AI deployment.
- Experience with lab automation, robotics, ROS, camera integration, sensor integration, or hand-eye calibration.
- Background in electroplating, surface finishing, PCB, advanced packaging, semiconductor wet-process laboratories, advanced manufacturing, or industrial R&D.
